Patronal day 2023

On the auspicious occasion of our school’s Patronal Day, the air resonated with joy and devotion on July 24th. Enthusiastic girls from the pre primary, primary and secondary departments came together, harmonizing their voices in soulful songs. The heartfelt offerings presented to the Lord added a sacred touch to the celebration, fostering a sense of unity and spiritual connection among the school community. It was a day marked not only by festivities but also by the shared commitment to faith and camaraderie.

Dio Spectra- Illuminating Minds, Igniting Possibilities

Our school organized an inter-school fest. Dio Spectra aimed to bring together students various schools to celebrate the spirit of academic excellence, creativity and collaboration. We had put up an impressive lineup of events like Quiz, folk music, Retro English music, poster making, model making, Non fire cooking etc. The participants and attendees had an enriching experience.

Teachers day

In a heart warming tribute to our dedicated teachers, our school transformed into a stage of appreciation on Teachers’ Day. The students, filled with gratitude, expressed their admiration through captivating dances, soulful songs, and heartfelt enactments. Teachers’ Day became a beautiful symphony of gratitude, echoing the profound influence of those who inspire and guide us every day.

Inter House Talent Hunt 2023

In a celebration of diverse talents and creativity, our school recently organized an exhilarating Inter-House Talent Hunt that turned the spotlight onto the remarkable abilities of our students. From melodious tunes to mesmerizing choreography and skilful instrumental renditions, the event was a testament to the rich reservoir of abilities our students possess. As cheers echoed through the halls, the Inter-House Talent Hunt became a vibrant celebration of creativity, teamwork, and the boundless potential that thrives within the walls of our educational community.

CHILDREN’S DAY 2023

In a delightful celebration of Children’s Day at our school, the usual roles reversed as teachers took the stage to dance, sing, and enchant the audience with a charming skit. Laughter and joy filled the air as the children, the true stars of the day, revelled in the unexpected showcase of talents by their educators. The event not only entertained but also fostered a special bond between teachers and students, creating lasting memories of a day where laughter echoed louder than textbooks. The Children enjoyed the show put up by the teachers.

Robert Milman Science Park Inauguration

The Bishop Robert Milman Science Park was inaugurated by the Rt. Rev. Dr. Paritosh Canning, Bishop of Calcutta and President, School Managing Committee, along with eminent astrophysicist, Dr. Debiprosad Druari, on the 25th of July, 2023. Robert Milman, Bishop of Calcutta (1866-1876), had a visionary idea of establishing a school for the holistic education of girls. Miss Angelina Hoare, an English missionary invited by him, continued his endeavour, leading to the establishment of the Diocesan Mission School, now known as St. John’s Diocesan Girls’ H.S. School. The outdoor Science Park is the first of it’s kind in Kolkata and consists of several interactive display models for playing and learning science, encompassing many topics like mechanics, kinetic energy, and optics. Our young student leaders will be able to experiment, explore and experience the expansive realm of science. The Bishop Robert Milman Science Park shall be a place of exploration, learning, and innovation, where the pursuit of knowledge is infused with reverence for the sanctity of life and the environment.

Embracing Sustainability: Celebrating International Plastic Free Day with Paper Bag Making

In an effort to raise awareness about the global plastic pollution crisis and promote sustainable alternatives, our school recently celebrated International Plastic Day. The event aimed to educate students about the harmful effects of plastic on the environment and encourage them to adopt eco-friendly practices. As part of the celebrations, students enthusiastically participated in a paper bag-making activity, which served as a powerful reminder of the importance of reducing plastic consumption.
By engaging in the process of making paper bags, students not only honed their creativity but also gained a deeper appreciation for the importance of sustainable living. As they carried their homemade bags, they became ambassadors for change, inspiring others to join the movement toward a plastic-free future. By fostering a culture of environmental consciousness, our school community demonstrated its commitment to safeguarding our planet for generations to come.

Rabindra Jayanti

Our school recently organized a virtual program to celebrate Rabindra Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, the legendary poet, philosopher, and Nobel laureate. Students also presented mesmerizing dance performances, recitations of his poems, and melodious rabindra sangeet based on his works. It was a memorable celebration that not only cherished our rich cultural heritage but also inspired everyone to develope deeper into the profound teachings of Rabindranath Tagore

Basketball ball tournament

The inter house basketball tournament was a thrilling competition that brought out the competitive spirit in students. With each house fiercely vying for the championship title, the basketball court was filled with energy and excitement.

Sports day

The sports day event held in Geetanjali Stadium was a celebration of athleticism and sportsmanship. The event brought students from different houses who competed in various track and field events such as sprints, relays, and long jumps. The atmosphere was electric, with cheering spectators and proud parents cheering on their children. The highlight of the day was the award ceremony, where winners received medals and trophies for their achievements, inspiring them to continue striving for excellence in sports and life.

School picnic

A school picnic is an enjoyable experience that students eagerly look forward to. It provides an opportunity for them to socialize and bond with their classmates outside of the classroom setting while exploring nature and having fun activities

Investiture ceremony

The investiture ceremony was a event held in our school, where the new student council members were sworn into their respective positions. The ceremony was a symbol of leadership and responsibility, as the students pledged to serve the school and uphold its values.
